There are plenty of fantastic places where you can stop in and chow down on scrumptious food. Whether you’re in the mood for some traditional Virgin Islands cuisine or looking for something a little more international, you can be sure you’ll find it in Charlotte Amalie.

Big Kahuna Rum Shack

If you like people watching while you enjoy a meal, head down to Big Kahuna Rum Shack. Sit back, relax, and enjoy some delicious fish tacos and jerk chicken and sip on one of their potent yet tasty cocktails – they’re famous around the island for them! People drop in to escape the heat and come back for the great good, friendly staff, and unbeatable drinks.

A favorite of both locals and visitors to St. Thomas, people can’t get enough of Cuzzin’s. When it comes to authentic traditional Virgin Islands cuisine, Cuzzin’s easily makes the top of the list. If you’ve been keen to try local food but aren’t sure where to start, Cuzzin’s should be your first port of call. Need a quick snack? Order some conch fritters. Or if you’re ready to sit down for lunch, try the goat curry, mutton, or jerk chicken. Cuzzin’s never disappoints.

Glady’s Cafe

Another authentic Virgin Islands restaurant that is near and dear to local’s hearts. The food is fresh and flavorful. Along with its tasty dishes, Glady’s is also famous for its one of a kind hot sauce. The best part? The cafe sells it so you can take some home for yourself or the chili fiend in your life.

Mafolie Restaurant

Boasting one of the most phenomenal views in Charlotte Amalie, people fall in love with Mafolie for its outstanding food as well. Part American, part Caribbean, Mafolie is the name both of the restaurant and the hotel it is located in. You can grab a table for brunch, lunch, or dinner and get the same top notch service and delectable food. The menu has a nice range of options for diners – kalaloo soup, curry, and conch for those who want to live like a local or seafood linguine, rib-eye, and salads for anyone looking for a taste of home. Wash it down with one of their delicious tropical cocktails (or fresh island juices!) and you’re all set!

Meson Amalia

Located in the elegant Palm Passage, refresh yourself with exquisite tapas and seafood at this open-air eatery. Step into the charming alleyway and delight yourself with fried calamari, mussels in brandy sauce and Spanish sausage. Once you’re finished, head over just a few feet to their bar located at the center of the alleyway for a glass of their world-class Spanish wine.
